Merge Impact Nutrient Transparency (MINT)

Healthier soils, created through regenerative practices, contain a diversity of microorganisms, organic matter, and minerals, which are all essential for providing crops with the necessary nutrients they need to grow and thrive. As a result, crops grown in healthy soils are often more nutrient-dense and flavorful. Merge Impact blockchain data provides consumers with proof of nutrient measurements and their correlation to climate positive production practices and outcomes.

WHAT IS BLOCKCHAIN? HOW DOES IT IMPACT MINT?

Using blockchain for MINT ensures collected data is transparent, unaltered, and valid to be used for brand claims, compliance to nutrient standards, and/or consumer demand. Brands and consumers can leverage blockchain verified data to make informed decisions about their food. Merge Blockchain provides the needed integrity to prove climate-positive production directly correlates with higher quality nutrition through health, flavor, & efficiency.

BACKGROUND AND DESCRIPTION

MINT is a comprehensive standard for measurement, verification, reporting, and marketing the nutrition outcomes derived from regenerative agriculture implementation. Merge Impact data is analyzed and reported to correlate positive climate outcomes with positive human nutrition outcomes. Our thesis is that consumers will and do want to make choices that benefit their health as well as the health of the planet.

Data collected for the MINT may be customized to specific needs of consumers, brands, and/or processors. Initially, Merge Impact will measure baseline soil data and nutrient profiles of crops to enable brand messaging around nutrient density and regenerative agriculture practices.

SCOPE

Merge Impact has created four (4) protocols for nutrient transparency to be used with corresponding soil data from the Earth Impact Soil Protocol (EISP):

  • Grains/Oilseeds/Legumes/Pulses
  • Fruit/Vegetable/Permanent Crops
  • Non-Dairy Animal Proteins
  • Dairy Products

Compliance reporting, ecosystem outcome reporting and field task transparency, in combination with using aligned expert service providers/organizations to collect, analyze and verify data. MINT is able to correlate to additional protocols with transparency:

  • EISP
  • MIST
CONSIDERATIONS

Additional measurements may be requested to be included in a custom protocol. MINT data may be utilized to satisfy product claims, compliance, and other high integrity data needs.
